DESCRIPTION
An online 10-session MasterCamp© titled “Intelligent Transportation Systems Improved by Next 5G Features” will focus on how transportation systems can be enhanced through the next generation of mobile communication technology, 5G. Topics covered in the MasterCamp© could include the potential benefits of 5G for intelligent transportation systems, such as improved connectivity, vehicle-to- everything (V2X) communications, real-time navigation, traffic monitoring, and road safety management. Students may also learn how 5G could be used to improve transportation energy efficiency and facilitate the adoption of autonomous vehicles. Practical case studies may be presented to illustrate how 5G technologies could be applied in urban or rural transportation projects.

My Story
Juan Petit is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in program management, research and development, and technological innovation. With over a decade of experience in the telecommunications industry, he has successfully led teams and delivered cutting-edge solutions in various domains.
Currently, Juan serves as the Program Director of Research at ALTEN, a renowned research and development firm based in Paris, France. In this role, he oversees a program focused on exploring and developing new use cases for 5G mobile networks. Juan excels in managing multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, consultants, and interns, within an Open Innovation framework. His expertise lies in project management, team leadership, research and development, technological innovation, and open-source development.
Prior to his current position, Juan worked as an independent Consultant Project Manager for Bouygues Telecom, where he played a vital role in the deployment of FTTA networks and the alignment of production deliverables for Nexloop. He also provided services through ALTEN, showcasing his capabilities in service provision, network deployment, business strategy, quality systems, and geographic information systems (GIS).
Juan’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found his own startup, Care Nateworks, where he served as the Director and Founder. During his tenure, he successfully registered the trademark “Care Networks” with the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) to address the emerging challenges of private 5G networks. His areas of expertise included product innovation, intellectual property, project financing, radio frequency, and business strategy.
Furthermore, Juan has experience working in the public sector as a Program Development Manager at the Ministry of National Education and Youth in France. He was responsible for the development of the STI2D (Science and Technology of Industry and Sustainable Development) program, focusing on information systems and digital technology. His competencies in pedagogical engineering, curriculum development, learning management systems, and system design greatly contributed to the program’s success.
Earlier in his career, Juan worked as a Ground Segment Technical Advisor at the Bolivian Space Agency. He played a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of the Bartolina Sisa Earth observation mission. His responsibilities included analyzing responses to tenders from prominent companies such as Airbus Space & Defense, Thales Alenia Space, Surrey, and CGWIC. Juan’s expertise in satellite communications, satellite imaging, telecommunication infrastructure, technical specifications, and tender design were instrumental in the mission’s implementation.
Juan holds a Doctorate in Electrical, Electronic, and Communication Engineering from Télécom Paris, where he conducted extensive research in his field. He also obtained a Master of Engineering in Engineering Sciences from the University Pierre and Marie Curie. Additionally, he participated in a preparatory year at the IGPDE (Institute of Public Management and Economic Development) under the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Digital Sovereignty, further enhancing his knowledge in public administration.
