My Story

After a general training in engineering sciences at the “Ecole Centrale de Nantes” and a specialization in fluid mechanics and transfers (DEA), I turned to Earth sciences during a complementary postgraduate training in oceanography at the University of Bordeaux I (DEA) and a PHD at the University of Pau in environmental sciences which I acquired expertise in the speciation of metals and metalloids in the environment. Finally, I conducted research in the geochemistry of aquatic environments in the United Kingdom as an associate researcher (NERC). After that, I joined the BRGM in 2002 as a research engineer, my research activities concerned  the biogeochemistry of trace metals. At the same time, I taught Master’s degree level at the University of Bordeaux I. I obtained the Habilitation to Direct Research (PhD School of Earth and Life Sciences) in 2005.

I was appointed Professor of Environmental Geochemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique of the University of Orléans in 2006 in the specialty Civil Engineering and Geo-environment.

I am attached to ISTO (Institut des Sciences de la Terre d’Orléans, UMR 7327 CNRS-University of Orléans-Brgm) where I conduct research in biogeochemistry and fundamental environmental mineralogy of trace elements, an action-research around agroecology and applied research on the ecological restoration of contaminated environments within the Continental Bio Geosystems team.

I am the co-author of nearly 130 articles published in international scientific journals and more than 180 communications at national and international scientific congresses.
